curator's office, based in Washington, DC,
is delighted to announce the acquisition of
two works by
Nicholas & Sheila Pye

by the

Smithsonian Institution's
Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.

The Lovers II is currently on view at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in the Highlights of the Collection exhibition.

Canadian artists Nicholas & Sheila Pye are a celebrated husband-wife artist team who work collaboratively on films and photography. Nicholas was born in Torquay, England in 1976. Sheila was born near Hamilton, Ontario in 1978. The Pyes have exhibited their work in numerous international film festivals such as the the Locarno International Film Festival, Switzerland; Toronto International Film Festival, Canada; Worldwide Short Film Festival, Toronto (where The Paper Wall won "Best Experimental Film"), Slamdance Film Festival, Utah; Rencontres Internationales, Paris, Madrid, and Berlin; The National Center for Contemporary Arts, Moscow; pulsar, Caracas; and the European Media Arts Festival, Osnabruck.
Their work has also been exhibited internationally at The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, Toronto; Curator's Office, Washington, DC; Angell Gallery, Toronto; Kasia Kay Art Projects, Chicago; Adler Galerie, Frankfurt; Begona Malone Gallery, Madrid; Sixty Seven Gallery, New York; RARE Gallery, New York, and the Harvey Levine Gallery, Los Angeles as well as numerous noted international art fairs such as ARCO, Scope New York, Scope Miami, Scope Hamptons, Aqua Art Miami and DIVA. The Pyes will be participating in a 6-month residency at INSTYRIA Kultur Service Graz, Austria. They will have another exhibition at Curator's Office in late 2008.
