New Art Space in DC: H Space

Hamiltonian Artists announced the opening of H-Space, a new project from Paul So, founder and executive director of Hamiltonian, a unique gallery space and fellowship program focusing on mentorship, exhibition and professional development for emerging artists in Washington, DC. H-Space provides live/work units for three visual artists with an open-plan multi-use ground floor space. Opening on April 6th at the Gallery is "Illuminations and Impressions" - an exhibition of art and design created by people who are blind or have low vision. In the Tower: Theaster Gates: The Minor Arts March 5 – September 4, 2017 National Gallery of Art East Building, Tower - Gallery 501 Theaster Gates (b. 1973) weaves together personal and cultural narratives, creating objects that speak to a particular time and place, and to the arc of American history. Popularly known for large-scale projects that transform vacant buildings into work of art, Gates has said that he is motivated by a desire to “reenvision place. . . not just as an art project, but as a way of living.”
